The winningest program at ICS will start its tennis season late this year. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and several multipart athletes, the Warriors Varsity Tennis team will begin its tennis season in the Ft. Hancock Tennis Tournament, tomorrow, March 12th (and March 13th if needed).
ICS Varsity Tennis won its first TCAF State Championship in 2012, and went on to win 3 more TCAF State Championships in 2013, 2014, and 2016.

Following tomorrow’s Ft. Hancock Tournament, ICS Tennis is scheduled to play 4 dual matches throughout the month of March and early April, before going on to the TCAF District and State Tournaments. They will take on (in this order) Clint, Tornillo, and Fabens throughout the month of March in dual matches, and currently have an open date to fill on April 2nd. On April 8th-10th the TCAF District and State Tournaments will take place. In years past, the TCAF District and State Tournaments have usually been held at Texas Christian University. However, due to the concerns surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, this year’s TCAF Tournaments will be held at the Richland Tennis Center in North Richland Hills, Texas.
There are several boys and girls ICS Tennis players we are expecting to have an exceptionally successful season. Jacob Villasana (12th), Rene Rios (12th) and Landon Rubi (12th) are all returners from last year’s tennis team. On the girls side, we expect Sarahi Campos (11th), Lizzie Parr (12th), and Elisa Reyna (11th) to all have very good seasons.
