RECAP: Lady Warriors Handed First 2 Losses of Season



On Friday, January 21st, the Varsity Girls Basketball team welcomed the Newman International Academy of Cedar Hill Lady Warriors to Dave Frazier Memorial Gym. The ICS Lady Warriors would be dealt their first loss of the year by the NICH Lady Warriors by a score of 27-48. #4 Juliana Hernandez was the leading scorer with 17 points, and had 9 steals on the day! Meanwhile #30 Hannah Ayala had 16 rebounds and 5 blocks on the day, and #25 McKenzie Hart pulled down 11 rebounds! The following day, January 22nd, the ICS Varsity Girls Basketball team faced off against the NICH Lady Warriors once again. The ICS Lady Warriors would drop a heartbreaker by a score of 58-59 on last second free throws shot by NICH. Three ICS players would score in double digits: #30 Hannah Ayala with 16 points, #3 Ari Vazquez with 15 points, and #4 Juliana Hernandez with 14 points. #30 Ayala completed a double-double with 13 rebounds, while #4 Hernandez recorded 9 assists and 4 steals on the day. The Varsity Girls Basketball team now holds a record of 14-2 (0-2), when they will face the Fr. Yermo Lady Spartans on Monday, January 24th at 4 PM at Fr. Yermo High School!
