Miguel Rodriguez

Varsity Girls Basketball & Jr. High Blue Girls Basketball Head Coach

Rejoining our program in 2014, Miguel Rodriguez was born and raised in El Paso where he attended and graduated from Riverside High School. Rodriguez went on to attain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Education. As a coach, he has overseen Jr. High Volleyball and Jr. Varsity Volleyball, as well as Elementary Track. Most recently he has been the head coach of the Junior High Girl’s Blue Team where he won SWCAA Championships back to back in the seasons of 2017-18 and 2018-19. In the 2019-20 season, he led his team to the SWCAA Championship where they fell short, taking second place. At the Varsity Coaching level, he helped lead our Varsity Girls Basketball team to a TCAF State Championship in the 2006-07 season. Furthermore, he led the Faith Varsity Girls Basketball team to a TCAL State Championship in the 2013-14 season. Most recently, in the 2019-20 season, he led our Varsity Girls Basketball team to a 27-3 (5-1) record and a Third Place finish in the TCAF State Tournament. Miguel Rodriguez is the husband to his wife Celia of 39 years and the father of his three children Jacob, Enrique, and Jessica. In addition to being the PE Coach at Immanuel Christian School, he is an Elder at Park Hills Church.

Andre Velasco

Varsity Girls Basketball Assistant Coach & Junior High Gold Girls Basketball Head Coach

Joining our program in 2019, Andre Velasco has grown up in El Paso where he attended Immanuel Christian School. While at ICS he played Varsity Basketball for his entire high school career, from 2014-2018. As a starting point guard, he helped lead his team to the TCAF State Playoffs during the 2015-16 season, where they finished in 3rd place. Velasco helped propel them to another playoff appearance in the 2017-18 season. He graduated from ICS in the Summer of 2018. Velasco went on to attend Texas Tech University to study Civil Engineering, before returning to El Paso in the Summer of 2019 to continue his degree at the University of Texas at El Paso. As a coach, he has assisted in Varsity Girls Basketball, where he helped coach them to a 3rd place finish in the TCAF State Tournament in the 2019-20 season. Velasco is also the head coach of the Jr. High Girls Gold Team.
